One of our most valuable clients purchased this penthouse in the exquisite area of Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and despite working with an architect to demolish and combine two apartments, he needed an interior designer to get involved with the project to create a glamorous yet grounded duplex residence.
The scope of work was to catalog the existing antique and modern furniture along with his fine and decorative artwork collection and to place them in the new designed space. Ms. Ibáñez selected all the new FF&E, including lighting, floor and wall finishes, searched for antique fireplaces and rugs, designed the window treatments and the custom made stair railing as well as proposed bathroom schemes among other tasks. She also worked on the selection of outdoor furniture and designed the terrace in collaboration with the landscape architect.
Overall, Ms. Ibáñez worked very closely with the client and his family in every single detail, decision, and purchase. She assisted them with the installation of the artwork and the home décor in addition to the design of the elevator lobby of their residence, which included a custom designed ‘console’ using wrought iron screens from the client’s private antique collection. The client was overjoyed and delighted with the outcome of the design, and it was a fulfilling project for them and for her.
